Offered autumn and spring. Introduction to the fundamentals of digital imaging and composition principles, primarily using Adobe Photoshop. Emphasis on formal 2D design components, typography, and digital compositing. Consideration of historical and contemporary approaches.

GDSN 231 - Graphic Design Applications. 3 Credits.
Offered spring. Prereq., GDSN 149A or MART 255 or MART 256. This course teaches students to plan and execute visual communication according to the needs of audiences in specific contexts. A thorough examination of the principles of design, theories of communication, and strategies for problem solving will be presented.
GDSN 391 - Special Topics. 1-6 Credits.
