  • At the core of our M.F.A. program is a close one-on-one mentorship with professors and regular critiques with fellow students. Students investigate ideas and process deeply and develop their understanding through studio work, research, writing, presentation, and critical analysis. The coursework includes:
    • individual study with professors,
    • theory and criticism,
    • professional development and college teaching,
    • critique colloquia, and
    • thematic studio explorations.
  • Students are limited to only six (6) credits of graduate-level approved 400-level courses.

Requirements

Art History and Critical Theory - Complete at least 6 credits of the following courses:6
Critical Theories in the Visual Arts I
Critical Theories in Visual Arts II
Graduate-level Art History or open elective chosen in consultation with your advisor
Independent Studio Research - Complete at least 24 credits of the following course:24
