  • All requirements for the degree must be completed within six years, including successful completion of a departmental comprehensive examination.
  • The Teacher Librarian Studies program is aligned with American Association of School Librarians (AASL) standards for the K-12 library media endorsement.  
  • The Library Media (LIBM) credits are offered online and provide exploration of the diverse skills necessary for successful administration and management of a school library, for supporting district curriculum, teaching information literacy and engaging young readers in the rich universe of literature.
  • The capstone of the program is a two-credit practicum experience in a school or public library setting in the student’s vicinity, supervised by a working librarian.
  • Courses are taught by faculty with extensive experience and knowledge of the various roles of Teacher Librarians.
