General Graduate Program Requirements
Graduate School policies and standards can be found on the Graduate School Policies page.
The minimum GPA for any graduate program is 3.0. Individual programs may require more than a 3.0 to remain in good standing.
The minimum grade for a course to be accepted toward any requirement is C. Individual programs may require higher grades for specific courses.
MASTER OF ARTS - THEATRE
There are three options for completing the Master of Arts in Theatre:
- Research-and-Practice track - This track requires 27 credits of graduate-level coursework plus a 3-credit theatre practice project (THTR 590), which is defended orally in the last semester.
- Professional Paper track - This track requires 27 credits of graduate-level coursework plus a 3-credit professional paper (THTR 599), which is defended orally in the last semester.
- Thesis Track - This track requires 24 credits of graduate-level coursework plus a 6-credit critical thesis (minimum of 10,000 words; THTR 599), which is defended orally in the last semester.
