General Graduate Program Requirements

The minimum GPA for any graduate program is 3.0. Individual programs may require more than a 3.0 to remain in good standing. 

The minimum grade for a course to be accepted toward any requirement is C. Individual programs may require higher grades for specific courses.

MASTER OF ARTS - THEATRE

There are three options for completing the Master of Arts in Theatre:

  • Research-and-Practice track - This track requires 27 credits of graduate-level coursework plus a 3-credit theatre practice project (THTR 590), which is defended orally in the last semester.
  • Professional Paper track - This track requires 27 credits of graduate-level coursework plus a 3-credit professional paper (THTR 599), which is defended orally in the last semester. 
  • Thesis Track - This track requires 24 credits of graduate-level coursework plus a 6-credit critical thesis (minimum of 10,000 words; THTR 599), which is defended orally in the last semester.
