General Graduate Program Requirements

The minimum GPA for any graduate program is 3.0. Individual programs may require more than a 3.0 to remain in good standing.
The minimum grade for a course to be accepted toward any requirement is C. Individual programs may require higher grades for specific courses.
MASTER OF EDUCATION - TEACHING AND LEARNING; Teacher Librarian Studies CONCENTRATION
- All requirements for the degree must be completed within six years, including successful completion of a departmental comprehensive examination.
- The Teacher Librarian Studies program is aligned with American Association of School Librarians (AASL) standards for the K-12 library media endorsement.
- The Library Media (LIBM) credits are offered online and provide exploration of the diverse skills necessary for successful administration and management of a school library, for supporting district curriculum, teaching information literacy, and engaging young readers in the rich universe of literature.
- The capstone of the program is a two-credit practicum experience in a school or public library setting in the student’s vicinity, supervised by a working librarian.
- Courses are taught by faculty with extensive experience and knowledge of the various roles of Teacher Librarians.
