Democracy Studies Minor
General Degree Requirements
To earn a baccalaureate degree, all students must complete successfully, in addition to any other requirements, the University of Montana General Education Requirements. Please refer to the General Education Requirements page for more information.

Unless otherwise noted in individual program requirements, a minimum grade point average of 2.00 in all work attempted at the University of Montana-Missoula is required for graduation. Please see the Academic Policies and Procedures page for information on how your GPA is calculated.
Courses taken to satisfy the requirements of a major, minor, or certificate program must be completed with a grade of C- or better unless a higher grade is noted in the program requirements.
MINOR - Democracy STUDIES
Course Requirements
- Students must complete at least 12 upper-division (300-level or above) credits.
- Special Topics courses taught at the 300- and 400-level (391 or 491) may count as upper-division area courses provided that they have a suitable content. Students should consult the department advisor and director of the Democracy Studies minor.
- The following credits requirements and limitations apply. Students must complete:
- at least 6 credits in History (HSTA/HSTR), but no more than 9 credits.
- at least 3 credits in Philosophy (PHL), but no more than 9 credits.
- at least 6 credits in Political Science (PSCI), but no more than 9 credits.
- no more than 6 credits in Business (BGEN/BMIS).
- no more than 6 credits in Environmental Studies (ENST).
- no more than 6 credits in Journalism (JRNL).
- no more than 6 credits in Non-Profit Administration (NPAD).
- no more than 3 credits in Public Health (PUBH).
- no more than 6 credits in Sociology (SOCI).
